Hey everyone (or just Gene), I have been meaning to update this blog for quite some time now, but I have been unhealthily lazy. Anyways, with 2009 just around the corner, I thought it was time to get off my ass and talk about something.
So, recently, I watched Cape No. 7, a hit Taiwanese film, and the damn movie really made me miss Taiwan. I've been here (in the US) for about 8 years now and its not so much that i dont like it here, but the fact that i prefer living in Taiwan a lot more. However, for the time being, I am here for my education. That aside, the movie made me really think about my future and what i plan on doing. Im almost done with high school and I still dont really know what I would like to do with my life. I have pretty good grades and Im pretty sure I will get into a pretty good school as well, but thats all i really know. My parents want me to be a doctor (surprise?), which i doubt that I will pursue. Maybe that should be my New Years resolution, find something that I am passionate for. I don't really care about the economic aspect of my future, as long as I find something i love and get paid relatively well, im good. I think that my trip home next summer will really help me, both physically and mentally. I will enjoy my time and maybe do a little soul searching. Plus, im pretty sure I will travel to Japan for a week alone, so thats something else to look forward to in 09. Like Danny Choo said in his article, "doing something will lead to something" and in 09, I will start to experience different things and participate in various activities. 6 months left of school may seem like a long time now, especially in the IB program, but im sure all this hard work will seem like nothing when im on the plane back to Taiwan.
2009 already seems like it will be a good year for me. What about you? Any plans for next year or any resolutions? And why do people only make resolutions every year? I think its something that people should strive for everyday to progress.
I just wanna wish you all a Happy New Year and I hope you are doing something that makes you happy (keep on cooking, Gene!) because life is too damn short!

man i just realized ur posts are so much better then mine, ya taiwan is defienetly gona be fun i wish i was going, i think im going bak home 2 england for a month in august which should be fun. im so lazy rite now as well, i took a year off and i thik im gona take a second year off aswell, hopefully ill be able 2 go bak 2 skool and im definetly goin 2 keep cooking. i think im gona get a car on monday wish me luck for that one.happy new year man hope u make a good resolution. i think mine is gona be 2 get a girlfriend, since the last time i had one was just before the start of high skool 4 and a half years ago. wow its been so long since she moved 2 france. i would make new day resolutions but im 2 lazy 2 thik up a new one each day.i would suggest u be a paramedic since they start u out at like 60k and its a fun job, a friend of mine is in skool for it rite now, and my brother (ok not really my brother but hes family)(the one im goin 2 england with) is gona go for paramedics as well and if i wasnt so lazy i would go with him. but then again u should do something ur passonite about. mabey like a graphics designer if ur into that kind of stuff.i have a few pics of the restaurant which i will be posting up in a few mins or sumtime 2 morrow. good talking 2 u.
man, i am SO fed up with school man...6 more months in hell. I gotta get a girl friend too, but where im from, its mostly african-americans and mexicans. nothing wrong with them, but kinda hard to get those girls when your asian. i prefer asians anyways...but whatever, i can wait till college
lawl my next door neighbours r mexican. i prefer asians aswell. but not those crazy asians that have lik tan lines aorund there eyes like those girls in tokyo drift.(creppy) ya im so close a friend of mine said 2 me 2 day, oo by the way im supposed 2 tell u anna likes u bak. so im so gona act on it. since im crazy and all, hey college is the time for experimentation. god i hate that word.man i had a crazy day at work 2 day.
dude ur almost done just 6 more months only half a year u can do it. uv already done 18 of them wats 6 more motnhs before u have a bit of freedom. im not gona lie i miss skool.
